Mock Interviews

*Interviews are conducted by current interviewer at UPenn, ranked top 7 in national universities and one of the eight Ivy League schools.*

Finally – your child submitted their last application. The process is complete – or so you thought. The last thing your child needs to do is to accept their college interview invite. Not all students get interviews, so it’s important that your child’s application is submitted on time and makes it past the initial screenings of review.

Once you accept the interview, you’ll need to prepare. At Barrett & Clarke Prep, our mock interviews are conducted by one of the current interviewers at UPenn, which makes them completely identical to the real interview. Today, a lot of college interviews are conducted online, which means students must feel comfortable in this type of setting. During our interviews, we use the most popular questions that college admission interviewers like to ask, as well as curveballs that students typically miss. During our process, we train our students to be able to answer all types of questions, learn tips and tricks, and master their choice of tones and words. Whatever the case may be, our team has your back.

Learning Interview Basics

First, your child will meet with the interviewer and learn the most common questions that college admission interviewers like to ask, what they are looking for in these questions, and then how to properly answer them. We will also go over basic interview techniques and etiquette, as well as additional tips and tricks students can use during their interviews to ensure that they put on the best performance. This step is essential to set up the student for future interview success.

Practice Interview #1 and Review

Now that your child is familiar with how the interview should go, they are ready for the first interview. The first interview will last thirty minutes to one hour in which the interviewer will simulate a replica of the actual interview experience using a combination of easy, medium, and hard level questions. After the interview is finished, the student and tutor will go over what went well as well as what the student could work on.

Practice Interview #2 and Review

Next, your child will take their feedback from the first interview and apply it to another mock interview.. The duration of the interview will be like the first: 30 minutes to one hour. Afterwards, the student and tutor will go over what the student did well at as well as what he/she could’ve done better at.

Practice Interview #3 and Review

Finally, your child will take everything they learned and bring it to the last mock interview. Here, the tutor will ask a wide variety of questions that encompass every aspect of the college interview. Just like the rest of the interviews, this one will last thirty minutes to one hour. At the end, the student and the tutor will go over what the student did good at, and then what they could’ve done a better job with. At this point, your child will be more than prepared for their own college interview.
