Jai is an ambitious and accomplished undergraduate student at Brown University, where he is pursuing a dual degree in Philosophy and Health & Human Biology on a pre-med track. He has a strong background in both academics and leadership.
Prior to Brown, Jai spent three years at an international school in Japan, where he earned both a Japanese high school degree and an IB diploma. He achieved high scores in a range of subjects, including 7s in IB Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Jai founded a successful philosophy club that hosted eminent philosophers as guest speakers. He also gained valuable clinical experience interning with a Harvard-trained transplant surgeon in the town of Karuizawa, and during summer breaks, he interned at Yale University and Stanford School of Medicine.
In Japan, Jai spent two years tutoring local Japanese high-school students in English. Additionally, he helped set up an SAT-prep program. Jai has also earned numerous honors and awards, including being a finalist in the John F. Kennedy ‘Profiles in Courage Essay’ contest and serving as a panelist interviewing renowned historian and philosopher, Professor Yuval Noah Harari on Japanese national TV.
At Brown, Jai is actively engaged in research and community service. He is currently an intern with the Department of Global Emergency Medicine, working on literature review, and serves on the pre-med AMSA board. He is also a board member of the Brown Society of Bioethics and Health Humanities.
